The Rock Hill Herald is reporting that the Carolina Panthers have added another defensive tackle to the mix on Monday.
But you’d have to be a hard-core to remember him. They signed Stephen Williams Monday, pushing their total at the position to four.
Williams was in camp with them last year, and had his moments, but was waived-injured at final cuts. In a different year, he’d have likely made the roster, but there was no room for him last season with Kris Jenkins and Kindal Moorehead hanging around.
For now, they also have starters Damione Lewis and Maake Kemoeatu, and former practice squader Gary Gibson. The addition of Williams has no bearing on their plans, though, as they’ll almost certainly add one or two during the draft.
