Panther Preseason Pics
The Carolina Panthers first preseason home game was last night at Bank of America Stadium. We attended the game with friends and family to see our hometeam Panthers take on the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens won the game 17-13 with great performances from several Panther players. To get a full review on the game check out my last blog “Panthers vs. Ravens in Charlotte”. Here are some preseason pics from uptown Charlotte: Sir Purr Dancing to the Music We all had a great time at the game. If you are a Panther fan and would like your [...]
Panthers vs. Ravens in Charlotte
The third preseason game for the Carolina Panthers helped some and hurt others. Luckily I was at the game to see first-hand Steve Smith’s return to the field and Mike Goodson‘s first opportunity to start at running back. Here is a brief overview of what was going on at Bank of America Stadium. Steve Smith was back in action and proving that he can still get it done. Smitty ran his routes with precision and stiff-armed the heck out of the Ravens defender. He got the reps he needed to help Panther fans feel really good about the regular season. [...]
Watching NFC South Opponent Bucs
Tonight I decided to watch the preseason game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins. I figured it was time to start checking out the opposition in the NFC South. Just as I start watching the game they have a weather delay. Lightning is popping and the Fox announcers are scrambling to fill time. As I watched I realized that the bad weather is an omen for the Bucs. The first position I examined for the Bucs was quarterback. They have four currently on the roster: Byron Leftwich, Luke McCown, Josh Freeman and Josh Johnson. I’m not sure how the [...]
Jake Delhomme: Quality or Not?
Carolina Panther fans seem to be torn in determining whether Jake Delhomme is a quality quarterback or not. I think the real question should be, does Delhomme come through in the clutch and what has his record been in the past? To begin with you cannot judge a quarterback based off of one game. So many fans have crucified Delhomme because he had a bad game in the playoffs last year against the Arizona Cardinals and that doesn’t seem to be fair. So let’s look at some numbers and see what Jake has done in the past. 2008 12 Wins [...]
Preseason Boredom
Tell me that I am not the only one who is bored to death with preseason football. The Carolina Panthers didn’t look to bad last night against the Miami Dolphins; however I wasn’t really paying attention. Let’s face it; preseason doesn’t bring the excitement that regular season brings. A typical Sunday during regular season brings some exciting variables around my house. I usually get up on Sunday morning, check my email, eat breakfast; shower up, put on my Panther garb and then get ready for the game. I watch the pregame shows while picking my spot in the living room to [...]
Top Three Fantasy Panthers
Fantasy football is bigger than ever. The Panthers have had some good results for fantasy team owners in the past. Who will be the top three fantasy players this year for the Panthers? #1 – DeAngelo Williams. How can you not list him first after last year’s performance. After watching Williams against the Giants on Monday night I have a feeling all fantasy owners will get nothing but upside from this superstar running back. #2 – Steve Smith. This super-unbelievable-catching-machine will do it again. If there is one guy you can depend on at the wide receiver position; it is [...]

Panther Training Camp Wrap-Up
The Carolina Panthers training camp broke ranks yesterday with rookie festivities. Of course, everyone had a great time welcoming the young bruisers to the league. The only question that remains is how many of those rookies will make the cut. I think one of the biggest questions coming out of camp is the lack of practice by Johnathan Stewart. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that he will be back in time for the first regular season game; however, an achilles tendon injury for a running back could be devastating. We can only hope that the team doctor knows [...]
Panthers Training Camp Update
Here is a training camp update from John White of CatCraveRadio.com for Wednesday, August 19th! – Mike Goodson was carted off the field but, according to coach Fox, he has only a leg bruise and should be okay. - Steve Smith was back on the practice field catching a few passes from Jake Delhomme. He also participated in some light work versus the defense. - Jonathan Stewart was again not practicing. He was not in pads. - Jeff King looked really sharp making a couple of very nice catches. - In a 7 on 7 drill Everette Brown put one heck [...]
10 Reasons Brett Favre Wants To Play Again
We all know by now that Brett Favre has decided to come back…again…to the NFL. I’ve heard some people say that the NFL stands for “not for long”; well that is definitely true for Favre when talking retirement. Here are my 10 reasons why Brett Favre wants to play again: #10 – He got tired of hunting. #9 – He wanted to make sure that no one could say he was a quitter. #8 – A few million more couldn’t hurt the old bank account. #7 – He was dying to wear purple (offsets green and yellow nicely). #6 – [...]
