The latest casualty of the Panthers is really no casualty at all. I just felt like adding my brand of questionable humor, in an effort to lighten the mood today.

Before you crucify me, let me first say that those aren’t the words I would have chosen. Okay, maybe I would have, but I would have taken out the “outstanding” and put in “nice” or something that doesn’t give the guy a swollen head. The statement is otherwise accurate though, at least when looking at the overall “big picture.”
In early February, Panthers’ receiver Steve Smith initiated contact with Tom Sorenson, a Charlotte Observer beat writer, wishing to discuss among other things, his desire for the Panthers to draft or acquire a receiver via free agency, who could complement his abilities and with whom he could complement his counterpart’s abilities on the field.

Stewart passed the mark in the regular season home finale against the New Orleans Saints, as Williams was sidelined three games from an injury.
