I couldn't agree with your assessment and analysis more, Brandon.

To echo what you said a bit, I do like the fact that Moore is the projected starter going into this season, and when I look at the numbers in passing from last season between Delhomme and Moore, when Moore took over, I noticed the ball was being spread around more in the passing game. So that was certainly refreshing, and Smith liked that, because he knew Moore wasn't staring him down, and he knew the load had been lifted some off of him, as well. Smith was very responsive to that change.

I too believe Dez Bryant will be gone early in the draft, certainly in the first-round, anyway. But there's still three receivers that I like, any of which could be around in the second-round: Golden Tate, Dexter McCluster, and Arrelious Benn.

I feel it's Smith's responsibility to amplify the team's need at receiver, almost as if to sort of put the front office on the spot come draft day.

The team has a few needs, but satisfy the need at a skill position. Listen to your 10-year playmaking dynamic receiver who has rarely sounded off on what the team should do or needs to do.

Thanks for the read and comment, Brandon.

I love to hear Smitty speaking out on how he feels. I truly want nothing more than for Steve to be wearing a Championship Ring on his finger when he (hopefully) retires as a Carolina Panther. I also believe with a young, mobile, quick, agile quarterback in Matt Moore at the helm this can happen. I 100% agree with Smitty that he needs help. Acquiring Brandon Marshall would be great. I think a Receiver like a Goldon Tate from Notre Dame would be a great option in the draft. Dez Bryant would be my # 1 but with risks. (And will be gone in the top 10 I assume). I have a real gut feeling that Dexter McCluster from Ole' Miss would be a huge asset for us. I know he's small in size, but WOW does he have SPEED. Smitty and Dexter would be a dynamic speed combo. Bottom line, I know we need to get some help on the DL, but I'm with Steve, he needs some help in the 2010 Season if we want to go make a run for the Ring.
