I agree with the wasted roster spot....but, the Panthers were able to stop nobody last season when Lloyd failed to punch it through the endzone....But IF (and that is a big if) Carter can kick the ball out of the endzone at the same rate Lloyd did in 2008 I will take that instead of carrying an extra 3rd string db or keeping a 3rd or 4th qb (who you could easily park on the practice squad...like Cantwell) or even holding on to an extra fullback...(remember when both Fiametta and Hoover were out and Sutton came on with a very nice and practical style of play and nice blocking skills...proving with him, 2 fullback were really not needed...)

BTW I hate Hoov is gone...but in a way Carolina tipped their hand when they drafted what was supposed to be the top fullback available. Plus it really did not not help Hoover missing the first games of his career last season and having Sutton, of all things, play fullback like a mighty mite! Hey, just for giggles keep an eye on Sutton...He is a lot closer to MJD than anyone knows and if he could get the touches, wow...I guess was 100% serious when he told me in 2006 he WOULD NEVER find himself in "that position"...going to the championship game with one game tested running back, Goings, and having him get knocked out right away. So, if you are wondering why the team will carry at least 5 running backs this season and possibly one more if the draft shakes out where a returner, who is an rb is there if and when they are picking that position then watch out....

I was shocked Alex Brown did not make it to Charlotte. That would have been nice, but hey LL is still not signed and though he is north of 35 years old...he would make one hell of a situational pass rusher and be very cheap too! Plus he would not have to move etc...as he would be home...
