Panthers Bolster the LB/DE Position

When it was Carolina’s turn to pick at 112, they traded down with the New York Jets, to select at 124 while gaining a fourth pick in the sixth-round.

With their pick at 124, the Carolina Panthers took outside linebacker / defensive end Eric Norwood, of the University of South Carolina.

At SC, Norwood was a defensive captain, and sacks leader for the Gamecocks.

Norwood is a smallish pass-rusher, but in meeks system, that should make no difference on his ability to make plays.

Linebacker and defensive end depth are two needs for the Panthers, and Norwood will fill either role nicely.
