The former Buffalo backup will only be one of many weakside linebackers the Panthers probably sign over the rest of preseason, until they can Beason back and get a guy with speed in the will spot. As, far as Fields go, I think he has now made enough Ed Johnson moves to now be a part of the Panthers' defense again. Doesn't sound good though. But if Stallworth can kill a guy while driving drunk and come back to play my guess would be this isn't necessarily an ending for Fields.
