UPDATED: Panthers bring back Burney and others on practice squad

The Panthers announced today that they have come to terms with six players for the team’s practice squad. Among those players is former University of North Carolina cornerback Kendric Burney.

Burney signed with the Panthers as an undrafted rookie free agent and almost played himself into a roster spot on the 53 man squad but ended up not making the cut. However, I am sure the Panthers are ecstatic about getting Burney back because he could play an important role on this team down the road, as the depth at the cornerback position is very scarce.

A few more weeks learning the system and playing on the practice squad could be just what Burney needs to continue to improve and eventually make an impact for the Panthers.

Outside of Burney the Panthers signed wide receiver Darvin Adams, center Jeff Byers, tight end Greg Smith, linebacker Lawrence Wilson, defensive end Thomas Keiser, guard Bryant Browning, center Jeff Byers and running back Josh Vaughan rounding out there squad.
