Nebraska CB Alfonzo Dennard Arrested

Former Nebraska Cornhusker Alfonzo Dennard was arrested around 2:15 this morning in an altercation with another man outside a bar in Lincoln, NE.

When police arrived on the scene, Dennard reportedly punched one of them in the face and it took four officers to restrain him. Charges include Third-Degree Assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

He was ejected from the 2012 Capital One Bowl for fighting with USC WR Alshon Jeffrey and has a reputation for trash-talking and physical play, not to mention being flagged for penalties.

Taken in its totality, the young man seems to have problems with his temper and punching a cop when you’re heavily outnumbered by other cops is almost never a good idea, so his intelligence and maturity are now well in question.

Formerly thought to be as high as a low first-round pick by some and a solid second-rounder otherwise, Dennard will likely slide into the 3rd or 4th round after this incident.

At this time, it is unknown what any possible legal penalties he’ll face will be or if jail time is indicated. Keep your eyes out as this story develops.
