Asante Samuel Traded; Vontaze Burflict Fails Drug Test

The Eagles and Falcons agreed to terms on a trade that sends former Eagle CB Asante Samuel to the Atlanta Falcons for as-yet undisclosed compensation. Samuel has agreed to a restructure of his contract to now be a 3-year $18.5 million dollar deal.

Nebraska CB Alfonzo Dennard was arrested for punching a cop outside a bar last Saturday morning, and now come the drug test results.

Two months ago, Arizona State LB Vontaze Burflict and Virginia Tech CB JayRon Hosley have both failed drug tests, the NFL informed teams today. Burflict was considered possibly a first-round prospect as recently as two months ago; now it appears quite possible he won’t be drafted at all.

In other news, Roger Goodell said Wednesday morning that player punishments for Bountygate would not be handed down until next week at the earliest. He claims he doesn’t want to take away from the draft this week.

Nope, that’s been done by a crazy woman in New York who posted a YouTube video saying whoever winds up being “Mr. Irrelevant” is wins an evening with her.

Someone is way too desperate for their 15 seconds of fame…
