On Saturday, former Carolina Panthers linebacker Dan Connor was arrested at Philadelphia International Airport for possession of a switchblade that was found in his luggage. The arrest was originally reported by WPVI in Philadelphia, according to USA Today.
Here is what USA Today had to say about the arrest:
New York Giants linebacker Dan Connor was arrested at Philadelphia International Airport Saturday for carrying a switchblade inside his luggage. He was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and was released on his own recognizance.
Team spokesman Pat Hanlon said the Giants are “aware of the situation.” He added, “We’ve spoken to Dan, who is cooperating with the authorities in Philadelphia.”
A TSA officer saw the knife on an X-ray machine and notified Philadelphia police when Connor attempted to enter a terminal around 9 a.m. ET.
Connor signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants in March after spending five seasons with the Panthers and Dallas Cowboys.
He was selected in the third round of the 2008 draft by Carolina.
