Carolina Panthers Dissed by New York Jets' Antwan Barnes

The Carolina Panthers are 0-2 after giving up another fourth quarter lead. In that game defensive end Mario Williams simply put, went HAM on right tackle Byron Bell. Williams harassed quarterback Cam Newton from start to finish, but outside linebacker Antwan Barnes of the Jets is not all that impressed.

Here’s what he had to say earlier today.

“It’s the Panthers we’re talking about,” Barnes said with a laugh to Newsday’s Kimberley Martin. “Obviously, he’s a first-round pick, they pay him so much money, so he’s got to go out there and do something. For our O-linemen, it’s the same. They go against us every day. They won’t be scared or intimidated by it.”

Buffalo and New York square off this Sunday but that is of little importance to Carolina. Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson chimed in on Twitter by saying (sic), “Who the hell is Antwan Barnes for the jets #neverheard of him.” This would be of little intrigue going forward if the two teams didn’t meet. Fortunately, that isn’t the case as New York will make the trip to Charlotte in Week 15.

Getting insulted by a good team I can handle, but the Jets?! THE JETS?!?! Rock bottom, nice to meet you.
