If you haven’t noticed by now Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy is a fan of saying ridiculous things. Whether or not he actually believes what he says is up for debate. This offseason he set his goal for sacks at 50, which is ludicrous and unattainable considering since the sack was taken as a statistic the highest number totaled was Michael Strahan’s 22.5. But it’s Hardy being Hardy.
The most vocal Panthers player outside of Steve Smith said another ridiculous thing on Monday. In an interview with the Charlotte Observer’s Jonathan Jones he said he would beat LeBron 1-on-1 with the score being 11-9. You can read the entire conversation here. A lot of people enjoy Hardy’s ridiculous remarks, but I think it just shows how delusional athletes can be when it comes to their talents. There is the possibility that Hardy is trolling all of us, although I don’t think that is the case here.
As for if these two were to actually play I would take LeBron 11-3, just because The King would feel bad for his counterpart and let him take a few open jumpers. If he wanted to he could take it 11-0 like it was nothing because, well, he’s the best player in basketball and Hardy is an NFL player.
