Roaming The Wire: Carolina Panthers News Links

Roaming The Wire is your daily destination to wake-up to for all of your Carolina Panthers related news. Rise n’ shine. Brew some java. Then, come here every morning to get your daily Panther fix before you tackle your day. We do the research so you don’t have to.

Chris Wesseling – NFL.com :

The only name hotter than Cam Newton’s around Panthers’ mini-camp is rookie Kelvin Benjamin.  He is grabbing a lot of attention and making GM Dave Gettleman look like a genius for selecting him.

Pat Yasinskas – ESPN.com :

Final numbers on LT Nate Chandler’s deal.  He signed a three-year deal this past week and if he pans out to be the Panthers’ starting left tackle for an extended time, they will have him on a sweetheart deal.

Kenjon Barner returning to Oregon for his teammate’s charity event:

Curry Shoff – The Charlotte Observer via MyrtleBeachOnline :

A.J. Klein looking to make moves amongst the linebacking corps.  The injury to Chase Blackburn opened the door for coaches to see what Klein had last year.  Klein is poised to have a meaningful 2014 if he continues doing what he did in 2013.

Thomas Davis interview on The Jim Rome Show (Friday 6/20/14) :

TD talks with Jim Rome about the Panthers and the outlook for 2014.  There is usually positive energy that comes off of interviews on Romey’s show, so Davis’ season is starting off well…..not that he needs it.

Cat Crave Nation — only 79 days until we open our season against the Buccaneers.  Tick-tick-tick.

I know you are looking for a response, so here it is. By the way I came back to yours because it was the only one I did not respond to today. I really do enjoy looking at whats on your wire every day, so don’t think no one is looking. I hope Thomas Davis does not get to carried away with not wearing his brace, and I would like to know how much faster it makes him with out the brace. Reasoning, it did not slow me down enough to notice, but it sure did keep me from not playing. I’d hate to loose him. Go Panthers

Thank you for your reply and glad you enjoy this column. I too hope Davis’ knee is back to 100% and ready to unleash the fury. I know Kuechly is our defensive voice, but Davis is the veteran leader that keeps the team together. Have a great weekend ahrchshaw – thanks for always participating in our columns! Keep Pounding!
