10. Lavonte David
The top 10 players in the NFC South list starts with…a Buccaneer? Yes sir, Lavonte David cracks the list as a two year player. He cleaned up his rookie season, but his sophomore campaign was downright filthy. 145 tackles, six sacks, and five interceptions later and he’s put himself in the discussion for best linebackers in the league regardless of age. Most players can be pigeon-holed in what they are capable of doing; David drops into coverage, rushes the passer, reads the offense, and plays either the Will or Mike linebacker depending on the team’s needs. David’s versatility may remind new head coach, Lovie Smith of another Middle Linebacker with whom he was familiar from his days in Chicago. Can David be the next great TB Linebacker? He’s already one of the top 10 players in the NFC South.
