9. Matt Ryan
Matt Ryan may have had his most impressive season to date last year—a year that saw the Falcons go 4-12. Ryan was without three of his top weapons (Julio Jones, Roddy White, and Steven Jackson) last year, and the Falcons were still 14th in yards and 20th in points per game. That was all on Matty Ice’s shoulders, and he proved he wasn’t just a product of a system of talent around him. With his full complement of guys (replace Jackson with Michael Turner), Ryan put up 4700+ yards, 32 TDs, and a playoff comeback/game-winning drive. He’s a two-time Pro Bowler who looks capable of earning the 5-year $103 Million contract he signed this time last year. And as important as his overall production is, his reputation for late-game heroics is something Panthers fans are intimately aware of.
