Panthers hope DeAngelo Williams can return in Week Nine

Josh Alper – ProFootballTalk.com

"DeAngelo Williams will not be active against Seattle, but hopefully he will for the Saints game. There’s a short turnaround of only four days between games, so it almost seems as if Williams wanted to play this weekend.  He might need those extra few days to ensure that he is where he wants to be.  DeAngelo has looked the best of any of the running backs this season, so any injection of production would be welcomed."

2014 Week 8: Panthers Fantasy Preview vs. Seahawks

Anthony Rizzuti – ProFootballSpot.com

"A look at the fantasy output of Carolina’s potential players.I’ve got Kelvin Benjamin in one of my leagues, and Greg Olsen in another.  Both have done well for me this year, but I couldn’t imagine owning any of the other players.  Prior to the season, I think everyone would have loved to snag the Carolina defense, but now, the D is equally as bad as the running backs."

Luke Kuechly ‘happy’ league didn’t fine him for ejection

David Newton – ESPN.com

"Luke Kuechly’s ejection last weekend didn’t have an extra slap in the face, in the form of a monetary fine.  Kuechly is appreciative of not losing any money, and took the high road on commenting further. The League did apologize to Ron Rivera for the ejection, though not formally to Kuechly.  The third-year linebacker doesn’t care about the apology, and is pleased that nothing further came of the situation."

Mike Tolbert just can’t stay away……

Russell Wilson would have been lost backing up Cam Newton

David Newton – ESPN.com

"The Panthers looked at drafting Russell Wilson to back up Cam Newton back in 2012.  What a different path Wilson would have taken to now, and how different would this Carolina offense be if he was selected?I’m happy for both quarterback’s successes, and am glad that Newton is the Panthers’ franchise quarterback."

Are the Carolina Panthers the best team in the NFC South by default?

Randy Inman – PantherLair.com

"It’s been a down year for the NFC South, and the Carolina Panthers are the kings of this underachieving division. There’s still a lot of football to play, but Carolina is in a good position moving through the season.  If the Panthers can pick up one or two wins during this rough patch of games, they will be in a good place.  After the Eagles game, it gets much easier for Carolina."
