One Man Who Doesn’t Need an ‘Audition’ to Remain in Carolina

We’re still waiting. Since Thursday of last week, we’ve all been awaiting the word on the future of Carolina Panthers’ general manager, Marty Hurney.

Hurney, who’s been away on vacation — like the rest of the coaching staff, team, and probably front office — since his contract expired, won’t be back until later this week or next. So while we wait, let’s take a look at a few key elements that should hold him in high favor of receiving an extension. (more…)

Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart celebrates his 23rd birthday today, Sunday March 21, 2010.

Drafted by the Panthers in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft, Stewart has been nothing short of an asset to the Panthers’ ground game, teaming up with fellow running back DeAngelo Williams.

In 2010, Williams and Stewart became the first running back tandem in NFL history to both surpass 1,100 yards rushing, for the same team during an NFL regular season.

Stewart passed the mark in the regular season home finale against the New Orleans Saints, as Williams was sidelined three games from an injury.
