The first half of the game was a scoreless defensive struggle until Robbie Gould booted a 43-yard field goal in the second quarter. Both teams struggled to find much offense as the Cowboys looked to start a late drive deep in their own territory. Tony Romo then got the bright idea to throw the ball to Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman who easily ran it back for a TD.

Romo made up for that gift by driving his team 80 yards in 9 plays to close out the half down only 10-7.

The Cowboys were unable to capitalize on their momentum and the Bears struck again. Devin Hester put a double-move on rookie Morris Claiborne and left him in the dust for a 34 yard touchdown grab.

Romo then drove the Cowboys deep into Bears’ territory when Kevin Ogletree was unable to handle one of his passes as it bounced high in the air and into the waiting hands of strong safety Major Wright.

Brandon Marshall gave them some breathing room before DeMarcus Ware had stripped the ball from QB Jay Cutler that was recovered at the 27 by Dallas.

The next play?

LB Lance Briggs gives Chicago another 6 points on a 74-yard interception return as Romo was being sacked.

Tumultuous turnovers, Batman! I’m in a tight fantasy race, and my opponent started the Bears’ defense!

At least I didn’t have Tony Romo, too. 3 interceptions and he missed an open Dez Bryant for a TD in the first half, then an open Miles Austin in the second half. Dez Bryant couldn’t catch a ball that hit him in the face mask and the Cowboys added a field goal with 2 minutes left in the third quarter.

After a lot of commotion about pass interference and tipped passes, the Bears answered with a field goal of their own to make it 27-10.

Dez Bryant then dropped a long pass down the right sideline where he’d badly beaten his man. Romo had no luck tonight but completed a 4th down pass to Austin.

But Dez would have none of it and got flagged 5 yards for illegal motion, showing his lack of focus once again. Forced into a 2nd and long, Romo decided to just go ahead and throw a 4th interception to mess with my fantasy league chances.

It didn’t matter. Cutler took them on another drive, ending in a blown coverage on Brandon Marshall for a touchdown, making it 34-10.

Romo decided to splurge with his 5th charitable gift and 2nd of the night for Major Wright. I think Romo was under the impression that they were tax-deductible.

Mercifully, Kyle Orton finished out the last three minutes of the game and threw a TD pass to Jason Witten in garbage time.

Just as mercifully, I had Brandon Marshall in my own fantasy lineup.
