At around 1pm eastern time Sunday, we’ll all settle into our favorite seats

Larry Fitzgerald: A Panthers Nightmare

wherever they are – Bank of America Stadium, a couch, a recliner. We’ll be subjected to a 4-win Arizona Cardinals team quarterbacked by John Skelton and a 1-12 Carolina Panthers team…oh, you know the rest.

If you get a sense of deja vu while watching, don’t worry. A lot of us will get that feeling. It’ll come each time Larry Fitzgerald, with his dread locks flowing out of the back of his helmet, catches a pass and rips through our secondary.

Sunday will mark a rematch on the same field that we saw on what may go down as a date in Panthers’ history which will live in infamy – January 10, 2009.

Brandon LaFail? Really?

Already? Surely, it’s too early to be making such bold nicknames, but it’s not the first time I’ve heard this one being used. While I am willing to give Brandon LaFell due time to develop into what most of us hope will be a starting-caliber receiver opposite the “dull, untalented, second-rate and other” Steve Smith, I will incredulously entertain the 50/50 possibility that the Panthers may have drafted a third dud as a successor to Muhsin Muhammad. We’ve all wondered what our team would be like with the best players from around the league occupying each position — in addition to some of the top players the Panthers have already, right?

Well this is the second-best alternative, where we’ll have the best available player from each team in the NFC South on the same team. An All-Star team, if you will. (more…)
