So after the Thursday night loss to Baltimore, and after a few people got banged up, the Carolina Panthers found a new piece to add to the puzzle, although I’ve got my concerns on this one.

As if the depth and veteran experience at linebacker wasn’t thin enough, out of necessity, Carolina needed to add another piece to the linebacking core. (more…)

Dexter Jackson, a product of Appalachian State, was a second-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008. On August 31, 2009 the Bucs waived Jackson. He has been on Carolina’s practice squad since October 12, 2009.

Jackson ran the manually-timed 40-yard dash 4.27 seconds faster than any receiver in 2008. He could be the team’s answer at getting faster at the receiver position.

Steve Justice, a product of Wake Forest, was drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. In 2009, he played for the New York Sentinels of the United Football League (UFL).

Marcus Walker, a product of Oklahoma University, had been with the Minnesota Vikings as a undrafted free agent. He was waived earlier this past season, and signed to the Carolina’s practice squad on a reserve-future contract.

And there’s room for one Moore on defense. Eric Moore, a product of Florida State, has been in the NFL for five years. He originally signed with the New York Giants in 2005. He’s also played for the New Orleans Saints, and St. Louis Rams.

Moore has tallied 31 tackles and two sacks.
