The Panthers were awarded Jerome Felton last night, after Felton was placed on waivers.The third year fullback carried the ball a career high 22 times last season, averaging 3.5 yards per carry.He started 16 games during his three years with the Lions.

Felton was the Lions fifth round pick in the 2008 draft.

The more important side of this story is what it says about the injury to Tony Fiammetta. Fiammetta the Panthers starting fullback last season has missed the past three weeks due to a concussion and his injury may be a lot worst than originally thought, especially if the Panthers are looking at other options.

The last time the Carolina Panthers played the New York Jets, the ending wasn’t so pretty. It was a close and competitive game, but the ending was a heartbreaker.

Granted, when the Panthers played at Giants Stadium in 2009, the game meant something, as it took place during regular season, and there was still that thread of hope that with a win, Carolina might be able to pull off a miracle playoff run.
