RIGHT DEFENSIVE END

Starter: Kony Ealy

The Panthers are expecting a big year out of their new starting right defensive end Kony Ealy. After starting the early portion of 2015, Ealy lost some snaps to veteran Jared Allen but still performed well and improved while recording five sacks in five straight games. He also made a name for himself during the Super Bowl as he picked off a pass and notched three sacks. Now, Ealy will be looked to to put it all together and provide a consistent pass rushing force at end.

Backup: Mario Addison

While not a three down defensive end, Mario Addison still provides Carolina with a valuable pass rushing specialist year in and year out. In his last two seasons with the Panthers, Addison has recorded 12.5 sacks in a predominantly third-down role and should once again provide that spark behind the starters.
