WEAK SIDE LINEBACKER

Starter: Thomas Davis

One of the Panthers biggest leaders and top talents, Thomas Davis, will man the weak side linebacker spot for his 11th year. Davis put together another terrific season for Carolina in 2015 with 105 tackles, 5.5 sacks, four interceptions and four forced fumbles as an all-around contributor. At 33, Davis is getting up there in age but should hold on to his normal snap count and starting role once again.

Backup: A.J. Klein

The Panthers’ best and most valuable backup on the team is A.J. Klein who will once again man the primary backup spot for all three linebacker spots. Klein has been a major asset since joining the team in 2013 and had his best season last year when he filled in for an injured Luke Kuechly and didn’t allow the defense to miss a beat. His versatility alone makes him valuable but factor in his productivity and you have one of the best, most underrated backup linebackers in the game.
