3. Robert McClain
Drafted: 2010 NFL Draft, 7th Round, 249th overall
The next player on this list also was taken in the 7th round, this time in the 2010 NFL Draft. The cornerback had a short initial stint with the Panthers. He played in 16 games and starting two as a rookie but was cut by the team prior to his second season.
McClain then went on to have stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots before returning to the Panthers in 2015. He played a pivotal role for this defense starting at cornerback in the playoffs for this team.
This past season, he started six games for the Panthers but was cut midway through the year. He finished this past season with the San Diego (Los Angeles) Chargers.
McClain currently has 248 career tackles, 23 passes defended and four interceptions over six seasons.
