Over the years, the Panthers have had some sensational linebackers on their roster. Although not the most recent or impressive of the bunch, Jon Beason certainly carved a niche for himself during his seven seasons with Carolina.

What really set Beason apart was his ability to rack up huge amounts of tackles. The former Miami Hurricane was a tackling machine, tallying over 120 total tackles during each of his first four seasons with the Panthers. His 583 total career tackles with Carolina are fourth in team history. The three players ahead of him played significantly more games along the way.

The success came early for Beason, who immediately shined as a rookie. Although it took until his sophomore season to finally get the recognition he so deserved, the outstanding linebacker ended his time in Charlotte with three Pro Bowl appearances and two All-Pro selections.

Although injuries eventually derailed his time with the Panthers, Beason still goes down as one of the greatest linebackers to ever call Bank of America Stadium home. There’s a reason the franchise made him the NFL’s then highest paid linebacker back in 2011.
