Zach Ertz vs. the Panther defense

Zach Ertz has been arguably one of the best tight ends in football over the past couple of seasons. After recording 74 catches for 824 yards and eight touchdowns last season, he firmly established himself among the best tight ends in football.

This season, he already has 48 catches for 480 yard and two touchdowns. He is a matchup nightmare for defenses as his six-foot-five, 250 pounds frame makes him hard to stop. He is one of  Wentz’s favorite target and it is easy to see why. His best game this season came against the Titans in an overtime loss. He caught 10 passes for 112 yards  and a 24-yard snag was his longest of the day.

It will be interesting to see who the Panthers put up against Ertz to stop him. It may be a committee effort or it may be one player. Whoever it is, they will have to play physically. Keeping Ertz in front of them at all times will be key too. Once he gets by the defense and they have to try to tackle him, he wins that matchup automatically.
