David Mayo, LB – Unrestricted Free Agent

Reserve linebacker David Mayo stepped up after the departure of A.J. Klein to New Orleans and has filled in admirably. His continued development, learning alongside Luke Kuechly and Davis, have allowed for him to provide quality depth on the roster.

Serving a big role on special teams and at the linebacker position, Hurney needs to explore all possible options to bring back the 26 year old at a fair price. Both his play at the beginning of the year, filling in while Davis served a suspension, and final game at New Orleans should provide more than enough quality tape to evaluate his performance.

While he may not be the answer for not re-signing Davis, Mayo is a quality player who Carolina should be able to get with a reasonably priced contract.
