Amini Silatolu

Offensive line is a huge problem for the Carolina Panthers, so I know you may be surprised to see two on the list so far. However, with this particular player, it is more performance-based. Amni Silatolu will probably not be back with the Carolina Panthers. Performance aside, the injury bug hit him last season as well. He was placed on injured reserve in December, his most recent injury in what was a difficult season healthwise for him.

Performance-wise, he did not fare much better. According to statistics from Pro Football Focus, Silatolu appeared in four games, totaling 22 snaps. 17 of those snaps came in a running situation. He had a run blocking rating of 33.4, his total offensive rating was 33.6. If there was one decent aspect of his game, it was his pass blocking. He recorded a rating of 47.3. Even still, that leaves a lot of room for improvement.

Given the fact that the Panthers may want to develop through the draft and get new blood into the lineman rotations, I could see Silatolu getting released. The results just have not been there. Carolina would be better off releasing him and letting him have a change of scenery. It would work well for both parties.
