Rashaan Gaulden

Starting safety has been one of the biggest question marks for the Carolina Panthers. It looks like they may have the solution, and he is on the roster. Rashaan Gaulden looks to take over that starting safety position. He didn’t play much last season, and now it looks like he may have an opportunity to prove himself.

We know what he can do. He played well at the University of Tennessee. He didn’t get to show what he was worth last year, as he didn’t receive much playing time. He recorded 17 tackles last year, in addition to a pass deflection. Those are terrible numbers given his playing time. They are also not numbers to write home about.

Now, he will be thrust into the safety competition. This is a time that is very much a make-or-break scenario for him. Although it may seem like an unfair crash course, such is life in the National Football League. He certainly has the talent to get the job done. If he can maximize his potential and play to his strengths, he will undoubtedly be a potential breakout star for not only the defense, but the Carolina Panthers as a whole in 2019.
