Justin Herbert – (Oregon)

Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert is one of the most polarizing figures in the 2020 NFL Draft. The player was in contention to go No.1 last year before opting to play another season in college.

This has impacted his stock considerable given his level of inconsistency. There is still plenty to like about a player that could either go in the top five or fall to the late first round.

Herbert is the perfect size you are looking for in a quarterback at 6-foot-6. He has all the tools needed and with a little refinement he could end up being a stud at the next level.

His arm strength is something that really sets him apart from other prospects entering the league this year. Herbert also possesses good footwork and is very accurate when given time to go through his progressions.

What Herbert will need to work on if he is going to get the most out of his considerable talent is his mechanics. The prospect tends to get flustered under pressure, with the majority of his interception coming under duress.

Whether the Carolina Panthers would be willing to use their No.7 selection on Herbert remains to be seen. Head coach Matt Rhule has not ruled out the possibility of taking a potential franchise quarterback early if the opportunity arises. But with so many pressing needs on the defensive side of the ball, it would be an extremely unwise decision.
