Tight end and offensive line

Big things are expected of tight end Ian Thomas in 2020. The 6-foot-3, 260 pound, third-year product from Indiana has 52 receptions for 469 yards and three touchdowns while backing up Greg Olsen in his first two seasons.

His ability to catch passes in traffic and to run after the catch will definitely give linebackers and safeties a player to be accounted for on every snap.

Offering protection for Teddy Bridgewater and opening holes for Christian McCaffrey are the five individuals that offensive line coach Pat Meyer and assistant offensive line coach Marcus Satterfield will be tasked with forming into a cohesive unit.

The anticipated starting group will consist of center Matt Paradis who will be entering his second season with the team. The right guard position will be covered by John Miller, who arrived in free agency from the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason.

Playing right tackle and entering his fourth season is Taylor Moton. Filling the left guard spot will be Dennis Daley who is now in his second year after performing well in relief in 2019.

Rounding out the offensive line and protecting Bridgewater’s blind-side is left tackle Russell Okung who came to the Panthers from San Diego in a trade for Trai Turner. The group is an average of 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, so they definitely have the size to get the job done.
