Carolina Panthers all-time list: Jake Delhomme – QB (No. 4)

Panthers Career: 2003-2009

Jake Delhomme led Carolina to the Super Bowl in his first season as the teams starting quarterback in 2003. While he was never able to get back there he will always hold a special place in the hearts of Panthers fans because of the way he played.

Delhomme was a tough competitor that brought the best out of his teammates. He was the first true franchise quarterback that the Carolina Panthers had. He went toe-to-toe with Tom Brady in Super Bowl XXXVIII coming up just short of beating out one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

While Delhomme’s statistics never wowed you, he always put his team in contention to win which is all you can ask for from your starting quarterback.

Carolina Panthers all-time list: Jonathan Stewart – RB (No. 3)

Panthers Career: 2008-2017

Jonathan Stewart was the thunder to DeAngelo William’s lightning for years in the Carolina offense.

The 240-pound Stewart punished defenders who tried to arm tackle him. It almost always took a group of tacklers to bring him down. He consistently kept the chains moving.

Stewart’s best season in the league came in 2009 when he rushed for 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged an outstanding 5.1 yards per attempt that year.

He ended his career with a total of 7,318 yards on the ground which was good enough for the most ever by a Carolina Panther.

Stewart was a consistent and durable running back that is hard to come by in today’s NFL. He currently holds almost all of Carolina’s important statistical records for running backs. Although Christian McCaffrey might be on his way to breaking those in the coming years.
