3 free-agent cornerbacks that could compete in camp

Carolina Panthers: Cornerback target – B.W. Webb
Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback B.W. Webb is another eye-catching name on the free-agent market that should warrant consideration from the Carolina Panthers if they want more competition in training camp. He played in 15 regular-season games in 2019 and was on the field for 78 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.
Although the Bengals’ secondary was absolutely woeful last season. Webb performed adequately enough for a struggling franchise. He will also come at the right sort of price if he impresses. With the player making a $1 million base salary in 2019.
With the prospect of him earning a roster spot elsewhere looking bleaker by the day. Webb might see a potential opportunity to fight for a position on the Carolina depth chart as something he couldn’t pass up.
He received a grade of 55.7 grade from Pro Football Focus from his efforts last season. Webb was targeted 63 times and conceded 38 receptions under pressure.
This would also represent a fresh start for the 30-year-old, who will not want to be on the NFL’s scrapheap for too much longer. If Webb ends up at the Panthers and manages to perform well, then it could be the catalyst behind the former third-round pick to end his career on the right note with a multi-year deal either in Carolina or elsewhere.
