June will also be the first time that fans of the Carolina Panthers will get to see their new quarterback suit up. Teddy Bridgewater signed a big-money deal in free agency and will now be tasked with leading the franchise forward during their expected period of transition.
The time for talk is almost over, which might possibly come as a relief for Bridgewater. The former first-round pick out of Louisville has worked exceptionally hard to come back from the brink and earn another starting spot. And it is something he is sure to grasp with both hands.
Things have not been easy this offseason for Bridgewater. The Panthers’ handling of Cam Newton’s release has not helped matters. And it has undoubtedly put additional pressure on his shoulder going into the campaign.
It will, therefore, come as a huge relief for the signal-caller to get some time with his new teammates on the field. Bridgewater knows offensive coordinator Joe Brady well from their time together at the New Orleans Saints. So this has the potential to smooth his transition even further.
Bridgewater’s three-year, $63 million deal with $33 million guaranteed was one of the more surprising moves made during free agency across the NFL. How the next few weeks unfold for the player is going to be crucial as he looks to make the most out of a second chance to become a prominent starter.
