Carolina Panthers: 4 dream offseason trade targets in 2020

Carolina Panthers trade target: Mike Hughes – CB (Minnesota Vikings)
The Carolina Panthers lost three big players from their cornerback rotation this offseason. James Bradberry, Ross Cockrell, and Javien Elliot were all moved on to pastures new. And the organization is now counting on the trio of Donte Jackson, Eli Apple, and fourth-round pick Troy Pride Jr. to improve their secondary when competitive action gets underway.
If the decision-makers within the organization want to further bolster this particular area of the field via trade, then Minnesota Vikings cornerback Mike Hughes is a name worth considering. The former first-round pick has gone through his fair share of injury problems over the last two seasons. But he will get the chance to make a starting spot his own in 2020.
Whether he can do this with a team that is primed for another postseason tilt is another matter. The Panthers might be able to tempt the Vikings with a third-round pick for Hughes, who has had real trouble staying healthy.
There is no doubting Hughes’ potential. He can operate on the outside or in the slot if required. And he represents another player that is not going to cost the earth from a financial perspective.
Whether the Vikings want to deal Hughes is another matter. They gave up a first-round pick to take him out of Central Florida and will want to at least see if the franchise can get a good return on their investment next season.
