Julius Peppers: Former Carolina Panthers defensive end

It’s impossible to talk about the best pass rushers of all time and not mention Julius Peppers. The Carolina Panthers legend is No. 1 on the sack list and had quarterbacks shaking in their cleats for more than a decade.

Peppers was an amazing athlete throughout his life. In high school, he was named the Male Athlete of the year, won state medals in track, and was one of the best football and basketball players in the nation.

The dominant figure continued to excel at the college level, quickly establishing himself as one of the most feared pass-rushers in the nation during his time at North Carolina. He is also one of the few NFL players who played college basketball and football.

Peppers’ career numbers further highlight his claims as one of the best the game has ever seen. This exceptional level of production was matched by his unrivaled enthusiasm and passionate locker room leadership.

He didn’t spend his entire career in Carolina, which was disappointing. Spells in the NFC North with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers followed. But his prime years were in a Panthers uniform.

Peppers will go down in folklore with any Panthers’ fan who was lucky enough to see him take the field. He is one of the true greats who deserves a documentary and will hopefully get one in the future.
