Carolina Panthers vs. Saints: Best bets
It comes as no surprise that the Saints are heavily favored at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday. The Carolina Panthers are 6.5-point underdogs for the clash, which is a role they’ve done well in for the most part this season.
Playing up to the opposition has been a notable takeaway from Carolina’s first season with Matt Rhule at the helm. Their complications have normally arisen in games they were more likely to win and things might have looked far different had they risen to the occasion in certain contests.
Keeping close with the Saints early on will be key. But it’s easy to forget that the Panthers were locked at 24 apiece with New Orleans in their previous meeting before a field goal swung things for the home team.
This was yet another tight game that the Panthers failed to gain a positive result from. It might be the story of the season, but they can take great heart from the fact they’re mixing it so well with the elite at this stage of Rhule’s rebuild.
Considering the uncertainty surrounding New Orleans and their starting unit as the game progress, taking the Panthers +6.5 seems like the smartest move at this juncture.
The over-under for the game is 47.5, which is slightly lower than the 51 points in Week 7. This seems like a good opportunity to bet the over and hope both offenses come to play.
