Jake Delhomme

This would take some convincing by the Carolina Panthers. But it would be an immensely popular decision to bring back Jake Delhomme to a place he called home for many years.

Delhomme is the second-best signal-caller in franchise history behind Cam Newton. His time in Carolina was littered with memorable moments and although he seems happy away from the game and with his horse breeding business, nobody would be able to install the Panthers’ ethos into their group of quarterbacks in 2021 better than the 11-year veteran.

We are talking about dream candidates here, right?

And Delhomme definitely fits into that category.

The retired signal-caller has forgotten more about football than we’ll ever know. Delhomme was a hugely cerebral player during his time with the Panthers and this nous might be extremely useful in a room that is littered with uncertainty at the present time.

Even if the Panthers choose to draft an exciting prospect this spring, who better to teach them what it takes to succeed in Carolina better than Delhomme.

This is probably just a pipe dream that’s never going to happen. But it sure is nice to think about.
