Another player that Teddy Bridgewater would be an upgrade on, even if the upside might still be there – is Drew Lock. The jury is still well and truly out regarding his ability to become a long-term starter for the Denver Broncos and although he’ll probably get another opportunity to prove his worth in 2021, he might be on a short leash.

There were high hopes that Lock could make a substantial leap forward with more responsbility on his shoulders this season. However, the former second-round pick completed just 57.3 percent of his passes for 2,933 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions to record a less than stellar 63.5 grade from Pro Football Focus.

Considering Lock has the likes of Melvin Gordon, Philip Lindsay, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, and Noah Fant to utilize in the passing game, this was an immense disappointment.

Bridgewater put up better passing numbers. But his touchdown output throwing the football was especially poor considering the weapons he also had at his disposal.

However, he’d be an upgrade on Lock at the present time. Patience will be running thin in Denver if the player doesn’t make the necessary adjustments next time around and they might even look at the prospect of a better option if the opportunity arises in the coming weeks.
