As stated previously, Oregon has a lot of gifted defensive backs taking their chances in the draft in 2021. This is a testament to the outstanding coaching each prospect receives at the Ducks, but what comes next for them could be the difference between success and failure.

One prospect that seems to fit the mold of what Matt Rhule is trying to install on the Carolina Panthers is Deommodore Lenoir. He has the versatility to play on the outside or cover in the slot with equal effect, with his willingness to assist in run support another big factor surrounding his overall contribution.

Lenoir is never going to blow you away with elite speed – the sort Donte Jackson undoubtedly possesses – but his competitiveness at the point of attack and ball skills during contested catches makes him an intriguing proposition once the first crop of players at the position come off the board.

The Panthers do have two young corners in Troy Pride Jr. and Stantley Thomas-Oliver, who still hold some potential despite going through some complications during their rookie season. This is not uncommon for players during the adjustment from college to the pros, but Carolina can’t go into 2021 with any sort of confidence in the duo.

Lenoir might be another development project. However, he comes with some outstanding physical features and is a strong option with a high upside.
