A Carolina Panthers reunion

Another thing Sam Darnold was clearly excited about is a reunion with former teammate Robby Anderson. The Carolina Panthers acquired the wide receiver in free agency last spring that resulted in the player enjoying a new lease of life away from the New York Jets, and the team is banking on their new quarterback having similar success in different surroundings.

Darnold and Anderson had some eye-catching highlights together, including a 92-yard touchdown that will live long in the memory. The No. 3 overall selection in 2018 is eager to get back down to business with the wideout, which could be worth its weight in gold where the Panthers are concerned.

"“Robby’s one of a kind. He’s an amazing guy and someone I love spending time with. And on the field, he’s going to tell you how it is. If he sees a play or a route a certain way, he’s going to let you know. And he’s not afraid to hear some criticism back. Robby’s a great teammate and I’m glad I’m back with him.”"

If the duo can hit it off once again from the word go, it could mean big things in Carolina’s future. Anderson benefitted considerably from having more in the way of talent around him in the passing game, ridding himself of the deep threat tag with an exceptional ability to get open quickly and impact the game all over the field.

Having a previous connection with the signal-caller is going to make Darnold’s transition a smooth one. With D.J. Moore, Dan Arnold, David Moore, and Christian McCaffrey also at the player’s disposal, it’s a great spot to land.
