4 second-year Panthers players facing a make-or-break 2021

Bravvion Roy – Carolina Panthers DT
Much like Stantley Thomas-Oliver, there wasn’t much in the way of expectations on the shoulders of Bravvion Roy entering his rookie campaign. The defensive tackle was selected in the sixth round by the Carolina Panthers to instantly link up once again with his former college coach Matt Rhule, which was the best possible scenario for a player who still possesses a solid amount of upside.
Roy got the chance to showcase his ability thanks to Kawann Short going down early in the campaign once again. He was not overawed by the responsibility in the slightest and although the lineman went through some obvious growing pains, there was far more good than bad regarding his production.
What comes next for Roy will be equally as important. The Panthers brought in DaQuan Jones from the Tennessee Titans in free agency and drafted both Daviyon Nixon and Phil Hoskins at the same position, so the player has it all to do if he wants to generate the same sort of reps in 2021.
There is nothing to suggest Roy isn’t capable of this.
He needs to improve his conditioning and consistency going up against bigger and more experienced offensive linemen. But Roy can be safe in the knowledge Rhule is a big believer in his ability.
However, that will only count for so much and nobody knows that more than Roy ahead of a pivotal second season in Carolina.
