Omar Bayless – Carolina Panthers WR

Things looked incredibly promising for Omar Bayless at training camp last summer before a serious knee injury prevented him from earning a shock spot on the 53-man roster and even caused the wide receiver to miss the entire campaign.

Bayless generated even more buzz than Jeremy Chinn within the Carolina Panthers before this unfortunate turn of events. The former Arkansas State sensation has missed a lot of time but is back fit and firing on all cylinders, so there could be a similar strong camp in the offing where the wideout is concerned.

Realistically speaking, Bayless needs a lot to go his way in pursuit of a substantial role in the passing game. Carolina has an embarrassment of riches at their disposal and it’s going to be interesting to see who gets the upper hand this summer.

The Panthers need to get a good look at Bayless during preseason games.

They know what the likes of D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and David Moore can do, so giving the inexperienced weapon his fair share of targets is a potential opportunity he cannot afford to pass up.

How much Bayless catches the eye in these moments will determine his short and possibly long-term future with the Panthers. The talent is obviously there, but nobody truly knows what the player is capable of until we see him on an NFL field for the first time.
