Haason Reddick – Carolina Panthers DE/OLB

  • 2021 cap hit – $1.99 million

One would expect a player who generated 12.5 sacks last season entering free agency to command some big money. However, this just wasn’t the right time in the current financial climate, leaving the Carolina Panthers to pick up Haason Reddick for an unbelievable bargain.

Reddick’s cap hit stands at just $1.99 million in 2020, although Carolina kicked the can down the road with $4 million next year if the player is no longer around.

OIf all the signings on defense this spring, Reddick could be the most influential not only in terms of production but what he can also do for others alongside the defensive front.

If the edge rusher can build on his career campaign by linking up once again with his former college coach Matt Rhule, the sky is the limit judging by what we saw from the Reddick during his time under Carolina’s head man at Temple.

His production with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 might end up being a flash in the pan.

But it’s not going to cost Carolina much to find out.

Reddick is betting on himself with the deal he signed this offseason, which came with $6 million in guarantees. If his belief results in another double-digit sack season, then he’ll command twice as much per year when he heads to the bargaining table in 2022.
