Buffalo Bills

The ties between the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills are well documented.

Sean McDermott was defensive coordinator in Carolina when Kawann Short was at the peak of his powers, so if they feel like the veteran could add something to their Super Bowl chasing roster, they’d arguably be the favorites to secure his services.

The Bills already have Ed Oliver, Vernon Butler, and Star Lotulelei manning the interior. But Short has the versatility to play anywhere on the defensive front that could come in handy.

Buffalo acquired Efe Obada from the Panthers in free agency after the team surprisingly didn’t keep him around despite some major strides in terms of production last season.

Short represents a low-risk, high reward pickup for any contending team. Considering his previous relationship with Buffalo’s coaching staff, it might be a no-brainer.

At this stage of his career, Short wants to find the right fit and one that can give him the opportunity to end his time in the NFL on a high.

The Bills definitely fit this category and already having knowledge of McDermott’s scheme would smooth his transition an endless amount.

It will be interesting to see not only where Short lands before the 2021 season, but also how well he can perform after some significant setbacks over the last two years.
