Frank Okam – Carolina Panthers DL coach

Frank Okam was promoted by the Carolina Panthers to defensive line coach in March 2021. He will have the great honor to coach this massively talented defensive line.

If things go as expected, then expect Okam to be in contention for another promotion next year.

Carolina brought in Haason Reddick, DaQuan Jones, Morgan Fox, Caraun Reid, and Frank Herron during free agency. They also drafted defensive tackle duo Daviyon Nixon and Phil Hoskins to further strengthen their options.

One cannot forget about Brian Burns and Derrick Brown’s emergence as big-time talents in the NFL. So, the players are there for Okam to have much success.

Okam showed some promise when he coached the defensive line at the 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl. He left a notable impression on that group, so imagine what he can do with a full offseason in Carolina.

The Panthers’ defense began to go on a tear towards the second half of the season.

This was due to the pressure and little time the quarterback had to get the ball off. The defensive line started off a little slow but turned up as time went on. In 2021, Okam has a full offseason to get this defensive line the way it was in the back half of the 2020 season or even better.

Okam has a lot of players that have different strengths in certain areas and they all can play a role. The defensive line has a lot of people psyched, and the coach is sure to bring the heat on opposing offenses.
