Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers RB

Chuba Hubbard should have had a better outing against the New York Giants. While the strategy was commendable, Matt Rhule gave the opposing defense bulletin board material by announcing that the Carolina Panthers would commit to the run.

This ensured that the Giants focused on stopping the run and forcing Sam Darnold to beat them. The result was 12 carries for 28 yards by Hubbard – 9.60 fantasy points – and one of the most embarrassing defeats in franchise history.

Start or Sit Week 8?

SIT.

The Atlanta Falcons allow 112 yards on the ground per game. They also happen to be the eighth worst team against running backs in fantasy.

Those should be good signs for Hubbard to be productive. But Darnold’s rapidly declining play makes me concerned about the run game will become less effective.

Take the wait-and-see approach with Hubbard. Even if the Panthers do try and set the tempo with the run game to try and take some heat off their troubled signal-caller.
