Tommy Tremble – Carolina Panthers TE

Ever since Greg Olsen left town, the Carolina Panthers have struggled to get production out of their tight end room. It was always unfair to ever expect anyone to be able to fill the Pro Bowler’s shoes, but Tommy Tremble might have what it takes to begin providing the team with some continuity at the position.

When the Notre Dame product was drafted, he boasted intriguing athleticism and a tenacious mentality as a blocker. However, even at the collegiate level, Tremble is yet to prove he’s an elite receiver.

After two seasons in South Bend, Tremble left the program with just 35 catches for 401 yards on his resume. Although he’s yet to break out in the passing game, he remains a very interesting prospect.

The Panthers drafted Tremble with the belief that he can develop as a receiver. And he has what it takes to become a dynamic all-around tight end.

Tremble finished his rookie season with 20 catches, 180 yards, and one touchdown. But like Terrace Marshall Jr., he was also a victim of offensive woes that were largely out of his control.

As of now, the tight end room in Carolina is yet again filled with uncertainty. Four-year veteran Ian Thomas set to enter free agency. If he doesn’t return, there’s a great chance Tremble will enter the 2022 season as Carolina’s clear and undisputed first choice.

The most important factor in Tremble’s development remains tied to his growth as a receiver. Considering his athleticism and knowledge of the game, he should be able to learn to regularly get open against NFL defenses.

Considering the factors listed above, there is plenty of reason to be bullish on Tremble’s ceiling as a versatile NFL tight end.
