Trading Christian McCaffrey for new beginnings

Matt Rhule‘s second season just came to a close with a very underwhelming offensive display during the course of it. As there has been a lot of roster turnover, Christian McCaffrey has been one of the only constants over the past couple of years.

With that being said, a new look could be good for a scheme.

Being able to see the offense officially in Rhule and Ben McAdoo’s system will give fans a better indication as to whether Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper made the right choice in appointing Rhule and signing off on McAdoo as the man to replace Joe Brady, who was fired midway through the team’s bye week.

Many people are still giving Rhule the benefit of the doubt because he hasn’t had the benefit of McCaffrey’s presence in the lineup more often than not. Even though the Panthers’ clear lack of adaptability without the running back is down to coaching and not much else.

With McCaffery gone, it might be a chance to see how Rhule can implement a new beginning without the dual-threat talent. Although Carolina has been completely lost without him.

Trading McCaffrey for some additional draft capital would allow Rhule to bring in his ideal players for what he is trying to run in his system. Just how that’s going to look with McAdoo around remains to be seen.
